Pinga found a chocolate snack that is popular in Japan. Mikado is called Pocky in Japan.

Tuffing and Morrisey


Pingu and Pinga left me at home and went to their friends' place. Their friends live with Tuffing and Morrisey. Pinga thought Morrisey is cuddly like me.

"Haramaki" is a Japanese word. Literally translation is "stomach wrapping." This haramaki is handmade by Pinga's friend. It's very nice but a bit too warm for me!

Nose marks


Pingu found my nose marks on the window and he was wondering if I was lonely at home. I was sitting on the window side watching the world pass by.

Bicycle rickshaw


Pingu and Pinga tried this bicycle rickshaw on the way back from Jama Masjid to metro station. There were so many of them and the street was jammed.

Prayers


It was after the Friday prayer but some people were praying at the Jama Masjid. This reminded Pinga of her days in Saudi Arabia.

Jama Masjid


This is india's largest mosque called jama masjid. It has the capacity of 20 000 people within its walls. It is located in the Old Delhi.

Flower decoration


Pinga liked this flower decoration on the marble at the Red Fort. She's concerned about the preservation of these buildings. They began to fade already.

Lal Qila (Red fort)


Pingu and Pinga are in Delhi now. This fort is built by the Mugal emperor Shah Jahan. He is known for building Taj Mahal for his wife.

Kite wars


There is an Indian harvest festival tradition to fly kites and to use sharp lines which can cut other kite lines. As soon as one kite goes up in the air, others show up to pick a fight. Pingu and Pinga friends showed how to fly a kite. It was fun!

Charminar


As you can see the traffic around Charminar, the monument in the city of Hyderabad, is quite hectic. The old city of Hyderabad is located here with a large muslim community and lots of winding streets filled with shops. Pinga loved it and bought plenty of bangles.

Indian ice cream van


This ice cream van was going fast on the country road.

Goats


On the walk down to the waterfall Pingu and Pinga met this herd of goats heading the other way.

Animal feet?!


On the way down to the waterfall Pingu and Pinga found these animal hoofs hanging from a tree. Creepy! There was also a sign warning for crocodiles.

Dogs fighting over biscuits


Pinga and Pingu found these puppies by the water fall lookout point. They put down biscuits and watched the dogs fight for them.

Ettipotala water fall


10 kilometers from the dam lies this beautiful water fall. Pinga and Pingu walked down to the water which was nice but it was quite hot in the sun. On the way down they saw many monkeys.

Indian school uniforms


When Pinga and Pingu went close to the dam there was many school girls in their uniforms.

The Nagarjuna sagar dam


Here you can see the dam which is one of the 3 biggest in the world. There is a road across but it is no longer allowed to drive there.

Wash hands with a view


Pinga and Pingu arrived at a huge water dam. They stopped at a state owned resort where they found this outside wash basin.

Cows galore


India is the land of animals. They roam the streets and rest along the roadside. Cows are holy and they are said to be as many or more than the human population of India.

Auto rickshaw


A visit to India is not complete without a ride in a auto rickshaw. They are inexpensive and quaint as long as you don't mind a bit of dust and plenty of traffic noise.

Rangoli


The decoration outside the house is called rangoli. It is drawn by the lady in the house early in the morning and welcomes visitors and shows that the house is awake. This specific one is colorful and extra nice to wish a happy new year.

Traffic jam


Pinga and her friend were caught in a really bad traffic around 6pm. It became coolested all of a sudden. 1st of January is not a holiday in India and many people worked normally today.

New year 2008


Pingu and Pinga are in India still. Their new year day started late as they stayed up late.
