Good morning Sweden

Their ferry reached KarlsHamn. There wad s dog on board too. Major customers of this ferry boat seem to be track drivers but there were many Russian people on board this time.

Bye bye Lithuania

In Klaipeda again

They drove back to Klaipeda to get back to Sweden. It was 28C degrees so they went out of the car and waited in the shade until they can board on the ferry. Come get me soon!

As they liked this terrace restaurant, they came to have the last lunch in Lithuania.

Old town of Vilnius

There are small stress like this throughout the old town. Nice but they needed to be careful with cars driving through.

KGB museum

The formal name of the museum is museum of genocide. The building that hosts the museum was the headquarter of the KGB until 1991. Pinga was depressed and sad to see the prison cells and other things at the museum.

Amber street side vendor

As Lithuania is one of the major areas that produces amber, there are many shops that sell them. Pinga's mother bought some souvenirs for her friends in Tokyo.

Cat and an arm chair

Pingu and Pinga thought of me when they saw this cat. S/he seems to have her own arm chair by the river.

Ice cream by the river

Momo-chan didn't seem to be interested but Pingu was very happy having it. He even ordered one more of this.

Lunch outside

It's very nice and sunny so they ate lunch outside. Momo-chan was happy having Pingu's spaghetti. As you can see from Momo-chan's hair, it was quite windy too.

St. Anne Church

On the contrary to the church next door, this church is well kept. It was built in the 16th century.

Restoration work

Inside the church, majour restoration work is ongoing. Seems like there are much left to do.

Uzupis area

They took a walk to Uzupis area. They saw some really old buildings there.

Macaroons

Pinga and her mother found macaroons sold at nearby café and decided to try them out. They thought they were a bit dry and Prague or Paris macaroons were tastier.

They went around the old town of Vilnius and went to the cathedral. Therr were many tourists.

They had lunch at a nice restaurant. Beer and traditional Lithuanian beer snacks.

Arrived in Vilnius

They reached Vilnius in the afternoon and had nice drinks and dinner. Pinga's cocktail tasted a bit interesting though. They are staying in quite central part of the city close to the old town.

Kibinai and Lithuanian dumplings

After the visit to the castle, they had nice Lithuanian food with beer. Unfortunately Pingu could not drink as he was driving but he enjoyed eating a lot.

Trakai island castle

On the way to Vilnius, they went by to s small town called Trakai. There are many lakes and on one of the islands, there is this castle. There was major restoration work and restored like this in 1987.

Fish tank at Mega

Mega is the biggest shopping mall in Kaunas and they have a big fish tank.

Chiune Sugihara memorial house

They visited Chiune Sugihara memorial house this afternoon. He was a Japanese consulate in Kaunas and saved 6000 jews by issueing transit visas to Japan. Pinga feels proud to have such a person as a Japanese.

Traditional Lithuanian food

Before leaving Nida, they had traditional Lithuanian food for lunch. All of them were tasty.

Despite of the rain, there were many people at the sand dune. It's one of the world heritage sites in Lithuania.

After taking the ferry and the taxi, they got to Nida. It's a small fishing town with many tourists.

Ferry to Lithuania

After dropping me off at the hotel, they reached Karlshamn to get on the ferry to Lithuania.

Upgraded at the cat hotel

As Pingu and the family go on vacation I checked in at my usual cat hotel. I got lucky and got upgraded to a suite room. Nice and spacious!

Momo-chan surprised me in the box and started to hit me. Maybe it was his way of petting but that is too rough!

I jumped onto the box and the lid of the box caved in so I was sleeping in it.

Momo-chan was very tired after a walk into town and then a play date with the parent child group. He fell asleep on the way home.

Pingu and Pinga are trying to keep Pinga's dad awake and playing a board game. Seems like their tactics are working ;-)

After a bit of practice with Pinga's parents, Momo-chan can stand up by himself quite easily. I think it won't take a long time before he starts walking.

Empty bag

Yesterday Pinga's parents came from Tokyo. I'm amazed by the amount of stuff they've brought! After unpacking Momo-chan was on top of the empty travel bag. Momo-chan, that's my spot!

Momo-chan seems to like boxes like me. After Pingu and Pinga's dad assembled shelves, there were empty boxes and he was happily playing with them.
