Dinner with friends

After the playtime with Japanese friends they had friends over for dinner as well. It was Momo-chan's friend from daycare and her parents. They had do-it-yourself sushi and there was lots of smiles and laughter.

Playtime

Altogether there were five children and they had a lot of fun together.

A gettogether for Japanese friends

After lunch a group of Japanese friends came over. They also brought tasty cookies so they had a lot to choose from.

Macaroons!

Pinga made her own macaroons today. They were a success and Momo-chan enjoyed then as well.

Sushi

Pinga worked hard and made these sushi and egg rolls. She became happy as she received many good comments from the neighbors.

Avoiding rain

Just when they set up the tables and chairs, it started to rain much. Momo-chan abd his friend was avoiding rain underneath the table.

Potluck party

There was a potluck party on the street they live. It started off with paying a cubb then dinner. Here's Momo-chan trying out crayfish.

Mushrooms

Momo-chan found many mushrooms and he picked two. He wanted to pick some more but Pinga told him no mushrooms on the bus. Pinga thought it would be good to know which mushrooms are edible and so on but there are so many kinds of them... Pingu had no idea about mushrooms either.

God stars for math

Momo-chan got this math book from Pingu's dad. He likes it a lot and especially the gold stars for each solved page.

Cucumber break

Momo-chan abd Pinga went to town for shopping. He wanted to eat something and it became cucumber. Healthy snack time at saluhallen :-)

Moomin hopping ball

This ball has handles so that kids can hold on to them and hop. Momo-chan was hopping a lot after dinner. Pinga thought it would be bigger but it's 50cm diameter and just good for current Momo-chan. It can handle up to 50 kg person.

Observant Momo-chan

Momo-chan said he wanted to sleep with his favourite toys and gathered them.
Last night Pinga said to Momo-chan let's sleep on Moomin pillow. Then Momo-chan said that it's not Moomin. He said "it's Moomin mamma. Look she has her handbag as a pillow." Pinga was impressed by Momo-chan.

Brushing tyrannosaurus teeth

Pinga brushed Momo-chan teeth and Momo-chan wanted to do the same for tyrannosaurus. Pinga calls him Tyra-chan. So does Momo-chan. He said "Do the crocodile teeth Tyra-chan!"

Fixing bike

Pingu was fixing his bike chain which was jumped. Momo-chan wanted to do the same eithvhis bike so he put his bike and said that he would fix it.

Rocking chairs

There were these rocking chairs at Turku airport. Of course Pinga sat on it and waited for boarding. It was nice but a bit hard as Pinga still has take bone problem. The weather picked up and got sunny when Pinga got to the airport.

Antique shops

There are a couple of antique shops close by in Turku. Pinga went on to check then out. There were many many things in small space. Along others, she found Arabia and ittala dishes that her parents have.

Inside of saluhallen

There were meat shop, bakeries, souvenir shop, restaurants and so on. Pinga bought postcards and wrote them there too.

Saluhallen

Saluhallen is market in Swedish. Pinga likes to check out local supermarkets and so on so she went in here too.

Rainy Turku

It was Pinga's last day in Turku but again heavy rain. Pinga borrowed an umbrella from the hotel and took a walk. This good looking building is a library.

Postcards

Pinga thought about buying postcards but she found out they are all in Finnish. Went back to the hotel and checked. 'Onnea' = good luck

Moomin lamps

Pinga found those Moomin lamps. Very cute and would be nice to have one at home.

Momo-chan shoe size

As it continued to rain a lot, they went into a sport shop. Pingu measured Momo-chan foot and it was size 26.

Ladybug likes Momo-chan

This is the second ladybug Momo-chan found. It keeps climbing up Momo-chan and didn't fly away. So Pingu and Momo-chan put it on a flower.

Shrimp lover

Pinga ordered panko breaded shrimp for Momo-chan abd he liked it a lot. But he didn't eat any chicken wings. Momo-chan didn't fall asleep on the way back to the hotel and was awake until 21.

Walk by the river

They took a walk after the cathedral visit. Momo-chan finds brunches wherever he is.

Turku cathedral

After breakfast they took a walk to Turku cathedral. It is more than 700 years old.

Ice cream penguin

They thought this ice cream penguin is cute. Pingu and Momo-chan tried to be one too.

Chicken wing restaurant

They moved from Naantali to Turku. Then they had dinner at this chicken wing place. Momo-chan was very sleepy but he came back from sleepy land when Pinga mentioned the dinner is 'karaage'. As usual can see not so healthy but very tasty.

Ladybug

Momo-chan found a ladybug. Pingu told him if it flies away from him, he would be lucky.

Pipe organ

When they entered, pipe organ was playing. Momo-chan was impressed by the sound and asked Pinga what it is and where the sound came from.

Photo shooting

Momo-chan joined photo shooting with the Moomin characters and other kids. All looked very happy.

Stinky

One of the Momo-chan's favorite characters is Stinky. Momo-chan waited for a while at the Moomin house to meet him. But unlike other characters, it is hard to come close to him as he gets irritated by all the kids.

Moomin house

The moomin house is big and you can visit all four floors. Looks exactly like the house in the stories right?

Moomin theatre

The park is filled with buildings and there are two stages where they perform shows. Mostly in Finnish but some sentences are repeated in Swedish.

Birthday celebrations?

There was quite a gathering in front of the moomin house later in the day. They were cheering and it seemed it was somebody's birthday.

Mårran

Momo-chan is a bit scarred of Mårran  but he was still very fascinated and was eager to see Mårran in her house. 

Moomin world!

It opened at noon today and they arrived shortly after. This is a map of the area. It is on an island connected to the main land by a bridge that doubles as sailboat mooring place.

Naantali supermarket

Before moomin world opens they went to a supermarket to do some shopping. Momo-chan got to ride this cool shopping cart. They did not only find moomin goods but also angry birds goods like this ice cream.

Hello Moomin!

Upon arrival at Turku airport they were greeted by Moomin when waiting for the luggage. Momo-chan got excited and said hi.

Lot of fun in Södra Sandby

Today they biked out to their friends new house in Södra Sandby. They have two children and Momo-chan had lots of fun together with them. Here they are watching a Disney movie together. Their friends did barbecue and also did ice cream with their ice cream machine. It was all super tasty!

Propeller plane

From Stockholm to Turku, they were on this small propeller plane. Momo-chan sat on the 4th row just next to one of the propellers so he was checking it out with great interest.

Lot of fun in Södra Sandby

Today they biked out to their friends new house in Södra Sandby. They have two children and Momo-chan had lots of fun together with them. Here they are watching a Disney movie together. Their friends did barbecue and also did ice cream with their ice cream machine. It was all super tasty!

Moomin starter

Pingu, Pinga and Momo-chan are traveling to Finland today to visit Moomin world outside Turku. Before going to the airport they stopped by Malmö station that has a moomin related exhibit for kids. Momo-chan enjoyed it but pingu and Pinga were disappointed.

Junibacken at Arlanda

Elsa Beskow is a famous Swedish writer of children's books. At Arlanda airport they have this cute playground with her themes. Momo-chan liked it a lot.

Bananas on the grill

After playing rounders, or in Swedish brännball, they did barbecue. After food was these bananas. Pinga was surprised to hear that you they were going to grill bananas together with chocolate. It turned out to be very sweet and tasty.

Sklylle

It was team activity day for Pinga today. They went to Sklylle early afternoon. It was sunny and very nice for taking a walk.

Artist Momo-chan

Momo-chan abd his friend went crazy with these sticky things yesterday. They are not supposed to be put on places other than glass and millor but they were thrown to the ceiling. After cleaning up, Momo-chan put them nicely like this.

Friends visit

Momo-chan's friend came for dinner. They wanted to play rather than eating dinner.

Lego helicopter

Pingu and Momo-chan bought lots of Lego pieces yesterday. After dinner, Momo-chan built this helicopter with Pingu's help. He was very focused.
As stunner send to have ended, Lego will be a good indoor activity for him.

On a paper boat

Pingu made this big boat silhouette with paper and Momo-chan rode on it.
