Halloween frenzy in Roppongi

Pinga was in Roppongi to meet her ex-colleagues and saw so many people dressed in many different costumes from Tutankhamun, Pikachu, belly dancers, nurses, and so on. Seemed like Halloween became one of those events that is commercially important.

Ski poles

Momo-chan wanted to check so poles as well but unfortunately they didn't have kids size at this shop. Momo-chan is curious about skiing.

Imakatsu

Pinga met her former colleagues at this katsu (Japanese schnitzel) place. They are famous for this chicken sasami katsu and it was delicious.

Ski shop

Pinga's friend wanted to buy ski boots so they went to check them out in Ochanomizu. Here's Momo-chan trying out ski boots as well. He tried on 19.5cm but his foot is 16.5cm. To Pinga's surprise, he liked them and had them on for a long time.

Ghost or Nyoronyoro?

Pinga and Momo-chan thought this ghost cake looks a bit like the character Nyoronyoro in Moomin.

Halloween cakes

Momo-chan and Pinga were checking sweets area of the department store and there were so many of those Halloween themed sweets. This is one of them.

日溜まり In the sunshine

Deja-vu knows where the sunshine is. Momo-chan likes Deja-vu and he wanted to be with him.

Light and sound show

At eight there was this light and sound show at the lake so they decided to see it before leaving the park. Momo-chan first thought it was too loud and scary. After seeing the show he said "Tanoshikatta! (It was fun)". Lots of light and some fireworks!

Time flies

Time flies and it was close to eight o'clock. So they were on their way to the entrance.

Waiting...

Hmm which one to ride? Momo-chan's friend choose genie from Aladdin and Momo-chan chose a horse. Pinga was on an elephant. There were camels and Pegasus too.

Curry dinner

Curry, rice and naan dinner was better than expected.

Two stories carousel

As the queue was short, they rode this twice. Once on the first floor, the second time in the upper floor.

Ocean theme

As the name refers to the sea, attractions are ocean or sea animals related such as turtle, jellyfish, blowfish, mermaid, etc. Good that Momo-chan and his friend like sea animals.

Skeletons

Halloween characters Skeletons were part of the show as well. They got to see them up close when they were exiting from the dance show.

Toy story mania

Their new attraction Toy Story Mania had 90 minutes waiting time so they gave up and moved on but they could enjoy displays like this around the attraction entrance.

Arrived at the entrance

They got lucky with the weather. Blue sky and warm like over 20C degrees. Also, there was not so crowded like last year.

Tokyo Disney Sea

They went to Tokyo Disney Sea today. Their resort train has these Micky mouse shaped windows.

Yakiniku dinner

They went to have grilled meat dinner as the restaurant had special promotion. It was tasty but their clothes smelled like barbecue afterwards.

Potato 🍠 digging

Momo-chan's cousin went to a potato farm with her kindergarten and dug sweet potatoes today. She came back with big sweet potatoes like this.

Hello Deja-vu

Momo-chan likes Deja-vu and tried to be friendly with her. Deja-vu is not that fond of small kids unfortunately.

Kick board

Momo-chan learned to use this kick board together with Pinga's dad. He wanted to do it today too.

Big bus song

They were singing a big bus song together.

Concrete mixer car

On the way to go home, Momo-chan wanted to see them working on cement.

Lunch time

After one and a half hour dealing with the glasses shop, they finally got together lunch.  The restaurant is run by fish store and sashimi was delicious.

間違ったメガネ Pinga's glasses

Pinga went to receive the glasses thar she ordered. But they made the glasses with the frame that she didn't order. She wanted the one she ordered but there's not enough time for them to make them over. So she got the one that she didn't order :-(

Big pumpkins

They found these big pumpkins in front of a bank.

スタンプステーション Stamp station

Here is a photo of one of the stamp stations. They were young people helping kids stamping. She was wearing one of the figures from popular animation Youkai watch.

Pumpkin boy

Cousin of Momo-chan's friend appeared in this cute pumpkin outfit. He is two year old.

Halloween stamp rally in Sengawa

Momo-chan and Pinga came to join their friends for Halloween activity. They walked around collecting stamps and got sweets at the end.

Welcome home

Momo-chan came back home and his cousins came to welcome home home with Halloween sweets.

Driving miniature train

Can you see Momo-chan and his friend driving miniature trains? They had to wait in line for a while but it was fun to drive a miniature train.

Keita-kun

Keita-kun is Keio railway's mascot. It was waving and pausing for guests.

Keio railway base visit

Pinga's best friend invited them to go see railway base of Keio line. It was full of families and a lot of activities.

Tama center

Tama center is a so called Hello Kitty town as there is Sanrio Puro Land. Even the signs in town are with Hello Kitty.

Tama monorail

Pinga took wrong train so they had to take monorail to make up for the lost minutes. Momo-chan was curious about monorail ride.

Momo-chan cousins

Momo-chan cousins are used to sushi and ate more than Momo-chan.

Sushi dinner

As it was last evening for Pingu, they went to a sushi restaurant. A bit stressful with three kids on the table, they enjoyed it. Momo-chan liked eel and salmon roe.

Even more robots!

There was also this Playstation 4 running the Play room demo with augmented reality robots popping out of the controller. Momo-chan enjoyed it a lot and spent quite a bit of time there.

Wakamaru robot

This is the talking and moving robot Wakamaru. There are now more advanced ones around but this robot could at least nice around and answer some simple questions. Momo-chan was shy and did not want to talk to it but instead followed it around.

Tepia high tech exhibition

Momo-chan and Pingu visited the technology exhibition at Tepia. The plan was to go to Toyota showroom and exhibition but they were closed. Here is Momo-chan interacting with the social robot Paro.

Table side entertainment

They did not only get a cake but also birthday song and several other songs including the Totoro and Anpanman theme songs.

Birthday bbq and cake

They finished the evening by having bbq dinner at the hotel. The dessert was a surprise birthday cake for Momo-chan's cousin.

Fire dance finale

The dance show ended with a fire dance by the pool. It was spectacular and exciting.

Polynesian dance show

At 5.30 there is a daily Polynesian dance show at the hotel. It was a nice show and the kids were watching with focus.

Ukulele hero?

Pinga and Momo-chan went to the shops after lunch and Momo-chan became interested in these cute ukuleles.

Tapioca milk tea

Yes they sell tapioca milk tea in Saipan and see how happy Momo-chan became.

Pool time

They are playing in the pool several times a day and today was no different. Here is Pingu pulling Momo-chan and his cousin in the big pool. Yes he is wearing a hoodie. It is a rash guard against sun burn.

Riding a lion

This lion is in the lobby of the hotel and Momo-chan and his cousin climbed onto it.

More dancing

At the hotel there was a band playing covers and invited people to dance on stage. They danced and became very hot and sweaty.

Saipan dance

On the way back from the restaurant they stopped and watched the Saipan dance entertainment outside a souvenir shop. Momo-chan and his cousins liked it a lot and danced as well.
