Drivers license renewal

It was a day of bureaucratic hell for Pinga. She needed to extend her driver license so she went to Itabashi police but then they said that she needs to go to one of the three drivers license renewal centers in Tokyo. The reason she could not do that at the police was it was her first time renewing license after it got expired. So she went there and they told her that she needed to be attend two hours lecture as it was considered her first license renewal. She has the license since 18 but it got expired as she could not renew it in time in 2014. After an hour of lecture, there was a break and she went down to a info counter and asked about driving experience certificate and also asked if they can reconnect her previous driving experience before it got expired in 2014. Then the officer asked if she was attending the two hours lecture. She said yes and he said that is strange as they can now connect those expired license to the new one. Then Pinga has more than seven years of experience and that makes her eligible to have gold license that has longer expiration time and cheaper fee to extend. She did not need to take the lecture any longer as she just needed 30 minutes lecture for gold drivers. It turned out to be the officer who put her in wrong queue and license category was from an adjacent section and didn't ask the right questions to her. Poor Pinga wasted time and energy there. They have reimbursed a bit of money, apologized and she got gold license. Loooong day of license renewal for Pinga and Pingu. Pingu took care of the twins for like 7 hours.

Outcome

One of the photos from the studio looks like this. Coco-chan does not look happy as he became hungry and sad. Not a good thing to be at a very clouded photo studio with small babies as the wait time is too long.

Model Momo-chan

Pinga wanted to choose two Japanese outfits for Momo-chan, however, the set price was for one Japanese and one western outfit so he was wearing this as well.

Shichigosan photo shooting

Momo-chan had an eventful day today. He was the main person of photo shooting which started at 11. Well, the appointment was at 11 but it took a long time and ended at 14:50. They took family and siblings photo as well so they rented kimono for Coco-chan and QP-chan as well.

Birthday celebration

Momo-chan's cousin turned six this Tuesday. Today they have celebrated her with a cake and presents. Here are three kids choosing which piece to eat. Birthday girl chose first of course.

What is Momo-chan up to?

Momo-chan came back home from school and the twins were looking at him like this. Momo-chan did his homework and had maccha ice cream. Then went to a park to play.

New pajamas

Not only Momo-chan but the twins are wearing new pajamas they received last week. They are for 12 months babies but fit them almost perfectly.

Cousins

Before dinner they were watching TV like this. Momo-chan wanted to hold QP-chan and his cousins wanted to do the same so QP-chan was held by three of them.

Coco-chan found this microphone sweet container and he was holding it and saying "Aaaaaa". He will love karaoke when he grows up?

8カ月 Eight months old

Twins have turned eight months old today. Coco-chan's fever is gone but now he has rash on his body and face. QP-chan is eating better than before. She likes pumpkin and other sweet things. She is ok but having cold.

Pumpkin time

QP-Chan has eaten tofu and pumpkin this evening. She liked pumpkin much more than tofu. Coco-chan's fever has gone down and he started to smile again. Also he has eaten well this evening. But it seems like Momo-chan has started to cough. Hope it doesn't get worse...

Sick Coco-chan

Coco-chan has been having high fever since Wednesday evening. It has been 39.x but today it became even 40.1. Pinga took him to see a doctor. The doctor said the fever could last up to four days but not more than that. He is tired and not in a good mood. Let's hope he feels better soon. QP-chan was fine yesterday but woke up with stuffy nose this morning .

Sleeping together

Twins are sleeping together like this on futon these days. Pinga just hopes Coco-chan to sleep longer intervals.

Nepal curry

Pingu and Pinga had Nepal curry lunch with eat as much as you want naan bread. Pingu chose butter chicken curry and Pinga chose spicy shrimp curry. Both Coco-chan and QP-chan liked naan.

Science center

After lunch they went to this science center. Here they could do many scientific experiments and watch planetarium. Here's Momo-chan trying linear motor car. They went to see the show at planetarium. Pinga wanted to watch the show but got very sleepy as the planetarium show lasted for 40 minutes.

再会 Reunion

Momo-chan met his friend after a year. Here they are comparing their heights just after they met at Kamiitabashi station.

Yakiniku dinner

They had dinner at yakiniku place. Yakiniku is barbecuing meat in Korean style. Momo-chan and his cousins enjoyed it.

Kabuki date

Pinga's parents gave Pingu and Pinga tickets for kabuki. So they were at kabuki theatre today. They had special acts as the famous actors are succeeding their father or relatives acting names, for example Hashinosuke Nakamura. It was very interesting but it started at 11 and did not end for 4 and a half hours so they had to leave before the last act.

Tooth came out

Coco-Chan's tooth came out just a bit today. Pinga thought QP-chan would get it earlier as she drools much more than him.

Swedish gingerbread cookies found in Japan

Yesterday evening Pingu was surprised to find these Swedish gingerbread cookies in a local supermarket here in Tokyo. Cool!

Halloween sweets

Pinga's sister came back home with these cupcakes and the kids became so excited.

Shabu shabu dinner

As it's difficult to eat out with the twins, Pinga's mom prepared Pingu's favourite food.,Pingu enjoyed it a lot.

Pumpkin babies

Here's Coco-chan with pumpkin kin mouth. Just like Momo-chan they like to eat pumpkin prepared by Pinga's mom.

After school

Dat two of Japanese elementary school for Momo-chan was over. He still finds it fun which is good. He made some friends but he is having tough time remembering their names. They use family name at school.

Reading Coco-chan

Coco-chan got sleepy so Pinga put him down on futon and he was no longer sleepy. He found this magazine and started to read it. Well, more like playing with it but he was busy with it for a while.

Sushi lunch

They came back to Tokyo without being stuck in traffic. Then they went to have sushi lunch. Mimi-chan enjoyed eating maguro/tuna, unagi/eal and ikura/salmon raw.

Apple farm

They stopped in Kawaba village to say hello to Pinga's friend who has apple farm. Although he and his wife were very busy dealing with customers who stopped by to buy apples, they welcomed them.

On the road again

It's the last day of long weekend today and they left Ishiuchi for Tokyo around 9 am. Seven people and one dog in the car but it was quiet as most of them fell asleep shortly after.

In Ishiuchi

They are still in Ishiuchi. There was a mushroom tasting event at the resort mansion they are staying. Babies are fine but sometimes not so happy and Deja vu seems to become concerned when they make noise. But Deja vu cannot hear well these days so she is not that annoyed by the noise, I guess.

Sit up training

QP-chan fell asleep early this evening but Coco-chan was not sleepy and happily awake close to 23. Here's Coco-chan doing sitting training with Pinga's dad. He can sit better than QP-chan.

Maccha ice cream

Here is happy Mono-chan with maccha, green tea, ice cream. Yesterday Pinga's dadboughticecream for all of them and Pingu chose strawberry, Pinga chose maccha and Momo-chan chose chocolate mint. Mono-chan tasted Pinga's ice cream as well and thought that was the best and got that one today.

Noodle restaurant

They travelled to Ishiuchi in Niigata prefecture this afternoon. As the water is very clean, excellent rice and soba noodle are produced there. So the dinner was at their usual noodle restaurant. Momo-chan ate very well.

Cousins

Mono-chan's cousin became happy receiving this shirt from him. Mono-chan thinks it's too warm and going to bed just like this.

At the classroom

Pinga went to pick Momo-chan up and they were about to finish for the day. Can you see Momo-chan in the front with his hand up or I should say hand up by his friend. They were talking about "what did you work hard today?"

Momo-chan started school

Today Momo-chan started going to a local elementary school. It starts around 8 and ends around 1430. Pinga asked him how it was and he said it was interesting, omishirokatta. Pinga got this school hat for him.

Gyoza lunch

They were at Pingu's favorite gyoza restaurant for lunch. A bit difficult with double stroller but it went ok.

At the lounge

They were at SAS lounge twice as the foot flight was delayed.

Big brother Momo-chan

Mono-chan was pushing the stroller a bit at the airport. Good job Momo-chan!

Waiting for the bus

Weather forecast says it will be 30C degrees in Tokyo tomorrow. It was 12C degrees in Lund and babies were cold so Pinga wrapped QP-chan up like this and Momo-chan thought she looks like ninja.

They were at their friends place for dinner and Pinga and her friend had a photo session with QP-chan. She became a mermaid like this.
