Last day in Seattle

It was their lsdt day in Seattle. Twins slept in and woken up by Pinga close to 9:30. They had breakfast and Pinga wanted to take them to a playground but it was raining. So they came to Trader Joe's. Pinga likes this supermaket chain since her L. A. time. After the shopping, twins enjoyed playing in the square just in front of the store. 

Scarf dress

As they got wet and there was no change of clothes, Pinga used her scarf and did a dress for QP-chan. It looks quite ok, isn't it? Coco-chan was wrapped up by brankets. 

Water fun for the third time

They visited Lake Union Park again this afternoon. Coco-chan went all in and soaked. They had fun for 15 minutes or so and they were done. 

Sleepy morning

They were tired and slept in this morning and woke up around 8:30. To Pinga's surprise, QP-chan was up before Coco-chan.

Three days in a row they were there. It's usually QP-chan who gets wet but Coco-chan went all in yesterday. 

QP-chan was trying something new. That was to back up to the water with her bum sticking out.

It's too big!

Coco-chan fell asleep at 11:20 so it was just QP-chan who saw this big fountain at Seattle Center. Pinga thought she might enjoy it but she was clinging on to Pinga and didn't like it at all. I guess she likes small fountains. 

Lake union park

After dinner they went for a walk. They just missed the water fountains in lake union Park (they turn off at 8pm). It is a nice park by the water but they have blocked off a big part of it due to construction.

Seattle dinner

Today they all drove down to Seattle. It took time due to border control and lunch break but they got there finally. In the evening they had a very tasty dinner together with Pingu's manager's manager and his Japanese wife. The main dish was this deep fried rock fish. 

Model Coco-chan?

Coco-chan likes to walk around the playground. He was walking like this and Pinga thought he liked like a mini adult or like a fashion model. 

Stretching QP-chan

QP-chan is getting faster and does many things these days. Here's QP-chan stretching before going down the slider. 

North Vancouver night market

Tonight they took the sea bus to North Vancouver to go to the night market that is held every Friday. There were more than 30 food trucks and wonderful weather. It was good to go early before lines to the trucks became long. 

Att the playground

After dinner, Pinga took them to a playground. It was not as crowded as usual. Someone left chalks so twins tried drawing on the ground. Coco-chan was very interested in it. 

Why there?

Twins turned one and a half year old today. They are active as usual. Pinga wondered why they want to be behind tv but I guess that's because they can... But don't push it babies! 

Purple sunset in Velas

Pinga received this beautiful purple sunset photo from her friends in Velas, Azores. It's so beautiful she decided to share it. 

PMI event

PMI stands for project management institute. Pinga attended their dinner event this evening to network with the people in the industry. Dinner was followed by a presentation and the presenter started it by talking about his trip to Machu Pichu in Peru. The picture on the screen is school teachers on protest in Peru. Pinga was thinking of her friends from Peru. 

The event was ok but difficult to meet many people as it was a seated dinner. 

Little kitchen helper

As usual, Coco-chan helped Pinga emptying dishwasher. He woke up happily around 7:30 and this was the first thing he did in the morning. Good job Coco-chan! Here you can watch video and hear him talk.

Seawall by night

Pingu went out walking with the twins tonight to get them to sleep. Coco-chan fell asleep quickly but QP-chan did not fall asleep at all. Today was quite warm with temperatures at 27 C. Therefore it was a very pleasant evening for a walk. 

OneRepublic light show

Pingu and Pinga sat far away from the stage but since it was straight ahead they could enjoy the full light show with lasers and other cool effects. 

Waiting for OneRepublic

Yesterday Pingu and Pinga went to Roger's arena to watch a concert by the US band OneRepublic. This photo was taken after the opening act and before OneRepublic started playing. 

Blackberries!

After lunch they went for a walk around Squamish. It is quite small and they were surprised how few houses were built close to the water. On their walk they found many blackberries. The twins enjoyed them as you can tell. 

Squamish lunch

Upon arriving they went for lunch. It was tasty and they enjoyed the nice weather on the patio. Today was Squamish50, a running competition. The goal was just a block south of where they ate so a lot of athletes around.

Sea-to-sky highway

Today they rented a car and drove north. They went on the sea to sky highway to the town of Squamish. It took an hour to get there but two to get home due to traffic congestion. 

Balloon fun

They went to a playground after dinner. There were two ladies with many balloons as her daughter had a birthday party. QP-chan and Coco-chan received one balloon each. QP-chan let the balloon go by accident and Pingu did the same so the balloons were gone quite quickly. Twins were looking at the balloons in the sky for a while. 

Another exam, done!

Pinga had another day of exam. This time, it was an English test called IELTS. It consists of listening, reading, writing and speaking. She had to be at the test site at 8 and then the exam finished just before 3 pm. This exam was needed for applying permanent residency in Canada. She talked to some other test takers and they were from Ghana, Russia, China and England. When she talked to a gentleman from England, she thought he spoke like a person from England and he told her he is from England. He said the exam is mandatory for people who wants to immigrate to Canada and English person is no exception. But it does feel a bit silly, isn't it? Anyways, she is relieved to finish taking this exam. Pinga has been studying and taking exams since she moved to Vancouver but maybe now she can relax a bit.

Pinga's shoes

Pinga took off her shoes inside the door as twins were asleep in the stroller. Pinga's shoes have velcros on them and Coco-chan woke up once by the noise that was why she took them off not close to the stroller. When they woke up and found those shoes indoor and of course, they tried them on. Pinga remembers Momo-chan did similar thing with Pingu or Pinga's shoes. Kids are fascinated by interesting things.

Twins find something fun everyday. They were looking at each other like this today. 

Coming back

It was nice those girls helped Pinga getting the twins back to the main picnic area.

QP-chan started to just walk away and Coco-chan followed. They just walked and walked like this. 

Picnic Wednesday

As usual, they were at the water park with other Japanese kids. 

Morning nap

Twins woke up early today as well. They were up before 7am. They became tired and fell asleep together at 9:30.

School playground

They were up from 7am and took a nap around 10am. After lunch, they went for grocery shopping and then to the playground of Momo-chan's school. They had fun for about an hour.

They were having blueberries. Coco-chan had enough so he started to give his blueberries to QP-chan. 

Turning on and off TV

Twins like to climb up on the TV bench. They know buttons are on top so they can power off TV and also change volume. So sometimes there is no sound and sometimes very loud. Let's hope they move on from the climbing phase soon... 

Canada place by night

As twins were not sleepy, they went out for a walk. It was Pinga first time seeing the night view of Coal Harbour and walked up to the Canada place. 

New window

Pinga made a window for twins cardboard house and they became happy. Here's Coco-chan looking out from the window. 

Oven drawer QP-chan

The twins are getting more and more active. It is hard to keep up with them. QP-chan pulled out the oven drawer and got in. Cute pose QP-chan but that is not what it's for. 

Welcome back mountain view

The winds have changed direction and the forest fire smoke has finally cleared. The forecast says rain tomorrow morning. Let's hope it improves the situation for all those whose homes are in the danger zone. 

Headband twins

It looks like they are being ready for bathing but it was this morning. QP-chan saw Pinga washing her face and she wanted to do the same. So she put it on QP-chan and off course, Coco-chan wanted do the same.

Wednesday is their Easter plan day. 

Yawning twins

QP-chan didn't sleep well last night. First Coco-chan woke up. Then that made QP-chan awake. Then QP-chan couldn't call asleep. So QP-chan and Pinga were up from 1am to 4am. Twins slept in until around 9:30.

Pinga took these photos while our walking with them. She wanted to take photos of them yawn for a long time so she was very happy. 

Sunglasses

Pinga noticed that sunglasses don't stay well on QP-chan's nose. It's the same problem as Pinga. Coco-chan has no problem wearing them.

As Coco-chan woke up at 7:30, he was tired and fell asleep like this at 13:45. Five minutes later, QP-chan fell asleep as well.

Coco-chan found this noise blocking headset and wanted to try it. Pinga pit it on him and he was this happy. 

Where to?

In the morning, they had one vehicle each. Coco-chan really like the cell phone and he doesn't let it go even when it's time to eat. Pinga takes it and out it on the table where he can see but he cries hard for it. Drama Coco-chan!

Coco-chan woke up just before they reach the end point. He was like this for a while. 

Vancouver pride 2017

They joined pride parade together with Amazon people this afternoon. Parade started around noon but Amazon team started to move at 13:30. The twins fell asleep almost exactly at 13 and they slept through the parade. You can see Pingu handing out Amazon sunglasses to the croud in this photo. They came to the end point at 15.

Vancouver pride parade

Today Pingu, Pinga and the twins walked in the pride parade. The parade is so long it takes two hours or more until the last people can start walking. Here you can see how many people are waiting to walk after us. 

QP-chan sleeping in

QP-chan is like a teenager. She stays up late like around 22 and wakes up late too. Everyone was up but she was sound asleep like this until around 9.

Finally they came!

After twenty minutes being in the elevator, the guys from elevator company came. Pinga asked what went wrong to one of the guys but they had no idea and said they would investigate it. 

Trapped in the elevator

After getting off the train, they took an elevator to go up to the street level. But as there was a man going down, the elevator went down to parking level, then the door was closed and it was stopped. First Pinga was not sure if it was moving but it was not. She made emergency call and they said help was on its way. But it took 20 minutes for them to come and open the door. The twins were calm and just waited.
