Christmas tree

Pinga went to the dentist and at the entrance of the building was this Christmas tree. It's not easy to see by the photo but lights were blinking. I guess there will be more and more Christmas decorations coming in town.

Birthday cake

Momo-chan counted candles and said "Seven?! How can it be seven?" Pinga explained 4 blue candles stand for 4 x 10 and then +3 makes 43.

Happy birthday Pingu!

They celebrated Pingu's birthday this evening. Twins like to do cheers as well.

Squirrel up close

On the way back home, there was this squirrel came close to them. Here is the movie of the squirrel and twins.

Squirrel!

Here are twins being excited to spot a squirrel.

Rainy afternoon walk

Despite the forecast, it was not raining much yesterday. From today, it will be rainy for a week. Not fun as indoor activities are limited.

Today twins have become 21 months old. Coco-chan seems to like bus, garbage truck, and other vehicles. He points to a bus and say "Baaa!" He also learned to open a closed door. QP-chan likes to put on clothes, hat, shoes, and so on. She can put on knit hat by herself quite well. They sometimes hug each other. When one is crying, the other one comes and tries to comfort. They are quite attached to Pinga especially when they are sleepy.

Playtime in the afternoon

Twins stayed up until late Wednesday evening so Pinga was determined to activate them in the hope of them falling asleep earlier. While they were taking a nap, Pinga took them to West End community centre for a playtime. They woke up by the noise other kids make. They enjoyed playing with balls, vehicles, and toys. Here you can see them driving backwards.
By the way, despite Pinga's effort QP-chan didn't fall asleep until 23. Coco-chan fell asleep before 22.

Piggy bun and QP-chan

Here's QP-chan with a piggy bun. There's custard cream in it but twins just ate outside of it.

Piggy buns

They were outside at lunch time so Pinga got some warm dim sum items for lunch from Taiwanese supermarket. These piggy buns are one of them.

Later in the Saturday afternoon, the fog lifted a bit and they enjoyed skiing even more. Momo-chan loved it and kept skiing until the lift closed at 4pm.

Sting rays

Add it was raining, they went to aquarium. It was their first time to see dying rays up close. They allow people to touch them so twins were trying but their hands were too short. QP-chan was especially eager to put her hands in the water.

Cypress mountain skiing

On Saturday Pingu and Momo-chan went to ski for the first time this season. They went to Cypress mountain which is only 35 minutes by bus from their home. It was good amount of snow for being this early but visibility was very poor.

Got dark but...

It was not repaired at 17 and Pinga started to wonder if it will ever be fixed today. They decided to go up the stairs to their home on the 10th floor at around 18:30. To their surprise, the electricity came back at 19:15.

Family time

In the morning, BC Hydro that handles electricity cable repair said it will be fixed by 15. Around 13, they said they aimed for 17. As the elevator stopped working, they couldn't even come up to their home. So Pinga took them to a family time at the community center.

Snack time

As there was no electricity and they needed to be outside of their home, Pinga's friend invited them for a playdate at home. Very nice!

No electricity at home

Yesterday's rain with lightning made electricity transformer blew just next to their home. So since 1 am, there has been no electricity. It was bad as the baby monitor went dead by the accident and it took a while until Pinga noticed  Coco-chan was crying.

Where should we start?

Arrived at playtime at the community center, twins were just standing like this at the beginning. Note that Coco-chan put his hand in the pocket.

Doctor Coco-chan

They were at kids animal rescue corner. Pinga showed Coco-chan how to use stethoscope and he seemed to understand it. Smart Coco-chan!

Playful seals

When they came to see seals, there was a young Labrador. The seals wanted to play with him so they came close by the window. The dog was in training to become a guide dog. He left and twins went to stand by the window. The seals cane by to say hello. You can see the video here. https://youtu.be/kwJzGpeEsqc

New Lindt shop is opened last week in Downtown so Momo-chan and Pinga went to check it out. They picked many flavours of Lindor chocolates and Momo-chan enjoyed hot chocolate. One of the staff working was Japanese who was on working holiday. There are really many Japanese people in Vancouver.

Tech babies

Twins like things that are not their toys. If the door to bedroom is open, they go in and start working on Pinga computer. Pinga was surprised when they somehow managed to start music from her locked computer.

On the way back from aquarium, Momo-chan was playing with lots of fallen leaves like this. Twins were tired and fell asleep around 15.

Root beer

Momo-chan's friend likes root beer and wanted to share it with Momo-chan. So Momo-chan tasted it for the first time and to Pinga's surprise, he liked it. They were dipping flies to it and Pinga asked Momo-chan to stop that.

Face or hand painting

QP-chan and Coco-chan had their first face painting. Coco-chan got a crown fish on hus cheek and QP-chan had a penguin on her hand. The person painting was from Hong Kong. She said she loves Japan and she has been there twice last year. She is an exchange student studying at UBC and volunteering at the aquarium.

Dolphin QP-chan

As Momo-chan had no school today, they went to the aquarium with his friend and his mom. Twins were at small kids corner while they were watching 4D short program. QP-chan loves to put clothes on so no wonder she wanted to put on this dolphin outfit. Coco-chan didn't want to try any sea animal outfit.

Playtime and sorry time

They were at a church's parent and tot meeting thus morning. There was a librarian from Vancouver public library for story time. She was good but the twins were more into eating snuck or playing with toys.

Arriving at school

This is where Pinga and twins say food bye to Momo-chan in the morning. Here's Momo-chan waving to twins. This school has no slope for wheelchairs or strollers. In order to get to an elevator, you need to go up the stairs. Some parents hold the stroller and go up but there's no way Pinga can do it with twin stroller.

"That's a wrap!"

When they arrived at Coal Harbour Park, filming was ongoing. Pinga asked one if the crews and she said it's Flash. You can see the main character in this photo in reddish brownish hero suit. It was getting dark and Pinga heard "That's a wrap!" and people apprauded.
Soon after twins were on their home too. Here's the video. https://youtu.be/468AIM6xE40
Om the way back, Pinga was surprised to see how much area they blocked for filming, how many people were involved and so many equipments were used.

Dog!

Twins seem to like dogs too. They met a friendly dog on their way home from Stanley Park and pet him. They were so happy. This photo is from this afternoon when they got to Coal Harbor park. Twins are in general quiet so good for the dogs, I guess. Well, Momo-chan was quite quiet when he was a baby. Twins are much more active than Momo-chan at this age.

Squirrel!

They were at one of the playgrounds at Stanley Park this morning. This squirrel came running and they were very curious about it. It quickly run away though.
