Behind the curtain

What does QP-chan do behind the curtain? The answer is...

Pooping.

Destroyer QP-chan

Pingu showed this to Pinga when she came back home. While Pingu was cleaning the house, QP-chan did this to a book. It's not new she destroys things but Pinga thought that phase was over but obviously not...

Set layout

Another station Momo-chan liked was this set layout. Here you can see him working hard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJeXj_Sr-WE

Building a robot

Mono-chan liked this station where he could build his own robot shapes. He spent lots of time there.

The science behind Pixar

Mono-chan and Pinga decided to check the Pixar exhibition out. It was a hands on exhibition that you could try many different things. Here's Momo-chan trying out different lighting settings.

Science world

There are things to experiment outside of the building too. It was cloudy but luckily not raining. It was past noon and Coco-chan was tired. So the twins left together with Pingu shortly after this.

Funny face Momo-chan

As it's not so great weather, they decided to go to Science world. This was on the way to the bus stop.

Happy hour in Gasttown

Momo-chan strolled around Gastown with Pinga's mom. Then Pinga finished work and joined them to have happy hour. First, they went to a restaurant called the Flying Pig. They were not quite satisfied and went to this place, 131 Water Kitchen & Bar, as they walked by and the food looked good. They ordered panko prawns thinking this was the dish they saw but it wasn't. Momo-chan enjoyed the dish a lot. Pinga and Pinga's mom is still wondering "what was the dish we saw?"

Twin girls?

Twins were curious about their nanny's hairdo. So she did their hair like hers and they were very happy about that.

Sick QP-chan

QP-chan was sick and didn't have appetite or energy. Their nanny took them to a park but she was resting like this on the stroller. She recovered in the afternoon and ate dinner well.

Coal Harbour boat tour

Just after the playdate, they went to take a boat tour from Coal Harbour. Pingu thought it would be nice for Pinga's mom as she will be leaving for Tokyo soon. The sky was not so clear due to the smoke from mountain fires but they enjoyed the tour.

Playdate

Momo-chan's best friend from school came for a playdate. They coloured a picture, then they traded Pokemon cards, had a snack and then played Beyblade. They had fun and his friend said he wanted to stay longer.

British Columbia Parliament Buildings

Here you can see BC parliament buildings. The buildings began operation officially during 1898.

Horse-drawn carriage

There were guided horse-drawn carriages in Victoria. Twins got so excited every time they see those come by. Victoria is a beautiful city with many flowers. But Pinga didn't find it so European as other people mentioned except for the provincial parliament building.

Petting goats

There was a corner to pet and brush goats. QP-chan was not afraid and brushed them many times. Coco-chan is more observed and pet them just a bit. Momo-chan enjoyed being close to the goats too.

Hello alpacas!

Also on Sunday, they went by Beacon park where they have an animal corner for children. There were peacocks, wild boars, alpacas, guinea pigs and goats.

Royal BC Museum - Rafting the Pacific

On Sunday, they were at Royal BC Museum. The main exhibition at the moment is "Egypt: The time of Pharaohs" but Pinga and Pinga's mom has been to Egypt so they didn't check it out. At the pocket gallery, they were doing an exhibition of marine debris from the 2011 Japanese tsunami. They had Japanese title texts as well as English ones.

At Swartz Bay

They took 7 pm ferry from Vancouver Island to come back to Vancouver. They had no luck to see killer whales from the ferry but here's the photo with a killer whale.

At the school playground

They went to a school playground for a bit. There they met another pair of girl and boy twins who were born in March 2016. Coco-chan didn't want to get on this but he helped keeping it turning.

My distant cousin?

They met this cat that looks very much like me on Sunday. He's very friendly and followed them for a while. Kids wanted to see him again so they went to where they met him and met his flatmates. He said his name is Yogi and he is 2 years old.

Butchart garden

One of the major tourist attractions on Vancouver island is this garden. Although the weather was not that great, they decided to visit there in the evening as there was fireworks. There were many visitors and also many Japanese people.

Hello froggy

Coco-chan liked this frog at the fountain in the rose garden.

Japanese garden

Butchart garden consists of several different gardens. One of them is this Japanese garden. It was very nicely done and Pinga's mom and Pinga thought it must be a Japanese person who contributed to this garden.
Twins liked holding onto the umbrellas but it was a bit dangerous for other people.

On the ferry

They rented a car and drove to Tsawassen and got on the ferry to Vancouver island this morning. Twins were excited to be on a big ship.

Iguana Drake and kids

Pinga asked the owner and he said the iguana is 3.5 year old and female. He got her from a pet shop in Calgary. Iguana's age is times 4 so she is about 14 in human age. Pinga was a bit surprised to hear she only eats meat.

Hello iguana

They were having picnic by the fountain as it was Wednesday. Then this guy came with his iguana. Momo-chan was very interested in it. QP-chan went closer to check but Coco-chan was careful as usual.

Fireworks

Here is the link to the fireworks tonight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCUiyZEAw3M
There were smileys, stars and hearts in the sky.

To the English Bay

It's the last night for celebration of light fireworks. They blocked off car traffic on Denman street so they could walk like this.

Happy hour

Momo-chan went to his tutoring session while twins were at a restaurant enjoying happy hour. QP-chan are macaroni and cheese too but Coco-chan was just interested in poutine. QP-chan was happily moving her body to the music and eating. The song was by Bruno Mars.

スイカ割り watermelon cracking

They went to Powell street festival, or aka Japanese Festival, this afternoon. By the kids tent, there was a watermelon cracking event. Momo-Chan took part but Pinga and her mom were a bit disappointed how it was organized. Usually, kids get blindfolded and try to hit watermelon from other people's guidance e.g. move a bit towards left, right, and a bit more forward, etc. But there was no blindfolding and also even though the watermelon was cracked, they didn't stop hitting it. Traditionally when the watermelon is cracked, the event is done and next is to cut the watermelon for participated kids. Other Japanese parents were puzzled by how it is organized as well.
