Bucket & sand toys

As we saw from Hawaii trip, Coco-chan loves a bucket and sand toys. There is a small kids section at Science World and they can play like this.

QP-Chan looked like this after eating Nutella  English muffin as her breakfast.

At the library

QP-chan wakes up late as usual. Coco-chan woke up and joined Momo-chan on the sofa watching TV.

Birthday cake lit

Here's QP-chan very curious about the birthday cake with candles. The cake looked good but Pingu and Pinga found it too sweet.

Happy birthday Pingu!

It's Pingu's birthday today. They started birthday dinner with cheers! Then the Chinese dinner with Peking duck and pork ribs.

There were these traditional Christmas dolls and twins were very interested in them.

Their nanny took them to a Christmas market. They had a lot of fun.

Piano

Twins visited their nanny's place for the first time. They had fun with the piano.

Dancing QP-chan

There was live music and QP-chan danced to it together with this Japanese girl. She was very kind and held QP-chan's hand.

Yaletown Candytown

After the church event, they went to Yaletown to see illumination and experience the end of this Christmas event. It was from 12 to 7 and they got there around 6:30.

Ice cream sandwich

After pizza and salad, they enjoyed these ice cream sandwiches. To Pinga's surprise, QP-chan almost finished entire sandwich by herself. Coco-chan said he didn't want any more after eating half of it.

Craft stations

After a song time, they did some crafts. There were several stations to do different activities. Here they are drawing pictures on a paper to write prayer.

Family event at a church

Pinga took the twins to their usual playtime church for a family event. The church was lit up in a purple light like this.

They took a walk to Stanley park and found those ginkgo leaves.

4 months old baby

 QP-chan seems to like babies. She wanted to give this baby girl a hug, and careless her.

New hairdo for QP-chan

 QP-chan had fun with a new hairdo. It looks like a pineapple! She liked it but took it off shortly after taking this photo.

Driving a stroller

 Momo-chan's friend wanted to push the stroller. Then all of the bigger kids wanted to push it. So it looked like this. Too many drivers and it's difficult to steer.

Second Beach

The plan was to play tennis but the tennis court was frozen and slippery. So they went to a playground and beach instead. It was cold but the kids enjoyed it.

Sea otters

 One of the Momo-chan's favourite animals at the aquarium is sea otters. One of the sea otters just sat on a rock and grooming itself. It looked like a cat.

Anglerfish & Harbour seal チョウチンアンコウとアザラシ

 

Momo-chan got face painting done. He chose an anglerfish on one cheek and harbour seal on the other. Good choices!

Fire & Rescue boat

 On the way to the aquarium, Momo-chan and Pinga saw this fire and rescue boat. They got curious as they did not know fire & rescue has a boat.

Back in Vancouver

 It was a long night as the flight was delayed from 11:30 pm for more than an hour and it finally left Honolulu 12:45 or so. It reached after 6 hours and it was around 8:30 am in Vancouver time. Coco-chan woke up just before landing and he was happy and active as you can see here. QP-chan was sleeping even after landing. Momo-chan was sleepy too but he was ok. Momo-chan and Pingu drove back home as there were much to carry and twins and Pinga took a train and a bus.

Many many fish

Momo-chan can't really swim but he went together with Pingu and saw some fish. He was very excited when he came back.

A helicopter that flew above. Coco-chan was very focused playing with sand toys. QP-chan was more interested in water but went in just up to her waist.

Hanauma bay at last

As they couldn't get a parking spot, they left Trevor home in Honolulu before 7:30 and arrived at Hanauma Bay. To their relief, they could park and go in. After the educational video about conserving nature, they walked down to the bay.

Pinga took this photo. Can you see a turtle sticking up his head out of the water?

Turtle beach

They went to Hanauma bay but the parking lot was already full at 9 am and couldn't get in. So they drove to North shore to look at turtles. There were just a couple and not difficult to spot them. Pinga saw them many times but it was not easy for Pingu to find them.

Day 6: shopping and beach

In the morning they went to do some errands and shopping. Late afternoon they went to Lanikai Beach for a swim and fun. QP-chan was curious about the water but didn't in by herself. 

Eating and feeding

QP-chan was eating pineapple and occasionally feeding some pieces to Coco-chan. Coco-chan is busy playing Toca kitchen where you prepare food to feed monsters. 

Day 5: Makapu‘u Lighthouse

Before noon they hiked up to the Makapu'u Lighthouse. It has an incredible view but also a rather steep incline and no shade along the way. 

Joe Lukela Beach Park

They went to the beach late afternoon. It was not a sand beach Pinga and Pingu wanted it to be but they had fun.

来ないで！ Don’t come!

While Momo-chan and Coco-chan were having fun by the waves, QP-chan had a snack break. There were some fries especially around her legs and she was telling them "Don't come!" Many times.

Manoa falls itself

After quite a bit of a hike they reached the waterfall. The water is clear, unlike Waimea. 

Day 4: Manoa falls

Last day to do activities with their Swedish friend. They went hiking up to Manoa falls. It is not as as visited as the Waimea nature park but equally beautiful. The only downside is the narrow trail which in places is quite muddy and slippery. 

Day 3: Ala Moana shopping mall

On the third day it was rainy until early afternoon so they spent time at the Ala Moana shopping mall in downtown Honolulu. The mall already had Christmas decorations and the center stage performance was dancing to Christmas songs. 

Tesla show window

Day theee and as it was raining, they drove to Ala Moana Center. There was this Tesla show window and twins found these kids cars to test.

After bathing

This is Momo-chan after bathing. He had much fun with Pingu. As twins didn't want to go in, Pinga stayed with them and they had a snack time.

Arrived at the waterfall

Finally they arrived at the waterfall. There were life jackets for rent and many people were bathing.

Apple banana

At Waimea waterfall park, there were different kinds of plants. Coco-chan and Pinga found this banana tree. Those apple bananas are smaller than normal bananas.

Thanks for the delivery

Pingu and Coco-chan came back from the donuts shop and QP-chan welcomed them home like this. The donuts were warm and the kids ate well.

The last Airbender?

Their friend stays in a house with his colleagues. They drew themselves as characters out of the comics about Avatar, the last airbender. Their friend is on the far left.
