Happy new year 2019

At 9 pm, there were 5-minute fireworks and as they were just in between tall buildings, they could see it from the apartment. The light that looks like a bridge is a crane for construction so most likely, they won't be able to see fireworks next New Year's Eve. Coco-chan was very tired as QP-chan and he did not take a nap. QP-chan was fine but he was so tired and not in the mood for fireworks. There were bigger fireworks at midnight but they were not awake to see them.

New Year’s Eve noodle 年越しそば

They had noodle dinner following Japanese tradition this evening. Momo-chan and QP-chan ate well but Coco-chan was just interested in seaweeds.

Play date

QP-chan isfinally fever free and in a good mood so they had a play date. They had much fun doing hide and seek and other things.

Cypress Mountain

Momo-chan and Pinga went skiing to Cypress Mountain. As it was very crowded at Grouse Mountain last Sunday, Pinga was hoping for less people and more skiing. Despite Pinga's expectation, there were so many people. It took an hour to exchange online purchases tickets. Then a long line at lifts. In total, they just rode lifts 7 times.

Twins were not feeling well with bad cold. But they helped Pingu making pizza.

After this, they went back skiing again but the fog was so thick and couldn't see the slope well and Momo-chan got a bit scared. Also, there were so many people queuing at the lift, they decided to stop skiing and go home.

Where is Bright Nights?

On the Christmas Day, they took a walk to see lights in Stanley Park but it was closed and all dark. They got disappointed. Good that Pinga brought snack to get them somehow happy.

Pancake time

Here's Momo-chan with gingerbread man outfit with Santa hat. He was happy with pancake with lots of Nutella on it.

Keyboard fun

Both of them like their Christmas present a lot. Coco-chan is good at finding out how to play songs, change tones, etc.

Christmas Day morning starts from present opening. Twins received crayons and this keyboard.

Candy cane Rudolf is here

Pinga made this candy cane reindeer Rudolf at Grouse Mountain. QP-chan and Coco-chan seems to like it. Also, they've been asking Pinga can I eat this? Just like Momo-chan they like candy canes.

Merry Christmas!

Pinga was off from work today so they had fun. Momo-chan was at day camp at West End community centre. They had Pinga's friend over for dinner. Pingu will be off tomorrow and the day after. Happy holidays!

Day camp at West End community centre

Momo-chan was at a day camp. He watched elf movie, played Mario cart, etc. he said he liked it. This is when twins and Pinga went to pick him up at 3 pm. He wanted to stay longer.

Hello Santa!

There was Santa's workshop at Grouse Mountain. You can go say hi to Santa. So Momo-chan went to see him. When Santa asked Momo-chan what he wishes for Christmas, he said Nintendo Switch. Let's see if Santa comes to Momo-chan this year as well.

Grouse Mountain gondola

It was raining hard in the morning but Momo-chan and Pinga went skiing for the first time this season. The gondola to go up was not so congested around 9 am. But as it was only one lift operating, the queue was ludicrously long. Momo-chan and Pinga walked up the slope all the way and got very sweaty. Then they took a hot chocolate & sandwich break.

Christmas tree set up

Christmas tree arrived and kids and Pingu set it up. They were happy.

Gingerbread houses

Here's Coco-chan looking at different kinds of gingerbread houses. The left most one is a pride house with rainbow colours. Pinga found it nice that they support diversity.

Christmas event in the evening

They went to a Christmas event at Gordon neighbourhood house. This is where Momo-chan goes for after school care. He had fun painting Christmas decirations. Here he is very focused.

Bike stand exercise?

QP-chan loves to play with bike stands. She is quite athletic and do all kinds of things. Coco-chan is more careful and does not do things like QP-chan does.

Little helpers

After dropping Momo-chan off at his friend's place for a play date, they went to a supermarket. QP-chan first wanted to ride a shopping cart. The answer fis on Pinga was No. then she wanted to push the shopping cart by herself. She tried rally hard and did an ok job.

Science world

Twins were at the science world this morning. QP-chan seems to be kind to smaller kids these days. One kid was crying so she gave him a toy. He was a bit surprised as QP-chan didn't say anything but just handed it over to him. His mom said thank you and she smiled.

Building a gingerbread house

After seeing those gingerbread houses, it was time for Momo-chan and Pinga to create one. It was not easy as the icing bag started to leak, etc.

Gingerbread exhibition

Hyatt hotel lobby has this gingerbread exhibition/competition so they went to see it. Some of the items looked very complicated. Twins were here with their nanny before but they still enjoyed it.

Christmas decorations

Twins and Pinga went to check out Christmas decorations in town. They stopped at this champagne lounge at the Trump hotel.

Letter to Santa

With Pinga's help, Momo-chan wrote a letter to Santa. They will post it and see what happens.

Santa and Coco-chan

After the family photo shoot, Coco-chan walked back to him and hugged him. QP-chan was a bit afraid of him but Coco-chan was not.

Christmas carnival

They were at the Coal Harbour community centre for a Christmas event. They enjoyed face painting, balloon art, a photo shoot with Santa, etc. Momo-chan had fun at a bouncy castle as usual.

Bye bye Scuba Claus

Scuba Claus was at the entrance greeting kids leaving the aquarium. Coco-chan gave him a hug but QP-chan all of a sudden got shy or scared and didn't do that. It's usually QP-chan who gives hug to kind strangers.

After reading a book, kids could do high five with Scuba Santa.

Story time with Scuba Claus

He last event they attended was a story time with Scuba Claus. Momo-chan and Coco-chan listened to him reading but QP-chan was more into eating snack.

Sea otter

Coco-chan chose a sea otter. QP-chan wanted a cat but ended up choosing a butterfly.

They joined the queue for face painting and waited. What motifs did they choose?

There was a session that people could see a penguin up close. Twins like penguin so they got excited.

High five with Scuba Claus

Here's Momo-chan doing high five with Scuba Claus. After this, Momo-chan held QP-chan so that she could do the same. 

Scuba Claus dive

They went to a Holiday party event for members at the aquarium. Shortly after they arrived, Scuba Claus was diving. He is putting starfish to the tree here.

Playtime at church

Wednesday is church playtime for twins. They were not shy (especially Coco-chan) and willingly joined song and parachute time. Their nanny thought they have grown bigger!

Gears

It took a bit of time to get all the gears moving but Momo-chan and Pinga has fun at this corner.

Science world

There was an event at science world with pingus work. So Momo-chan and Pinga has breakfast there and enjoy the exhibition before it was open to the general public. This ski simulation machine was very difficult. Pinga and Momo-chan can ski well but not with this machine. It said "Disqualified"!

Evening view

It was already dark when they were in their way home just before 5 pm.

Green sea turtle

This turtle was moving a lot when they came by. Pinga read explanation and his sea turtle was rescued in B.C.

Octopus moving

It was Pinga's first time seeing the octopus. She has been to the aquarium many times but never seen the octopus. It was hiding whenever she checked. So she got excited more than Momo-chan. He said he has seen it in action before.

Come on electric eel, move!

Momo-chan and Pinga went to the aquarium. Here's Momo-chan looking up at the electric eel. It could light up the Christmas tree beside when but it was not moving at all.

Science world

There were not so many people at science world. So they enjoyed trying out different tthings.

Christmas decorations in town

They were on their way to Science world. There are Christmas trees and other Christmas decorations now.

Church play time

It's Wednesday so they joined church play time. They are getting more and more active with song moment and parachute time.

Overall on!

As it was minus 1C degrees, twins got their overalls on for the first time this season.
