Happy hour

Momo-chan went to his tutoring session while twins were at a restaurant enjoying happy hour. QP-chan are macaroni and cheese too but Coco-chan was just interested in poutine. QP-chan was happily moving her body to the music and eating. The song was by Bruno Mars.

スイカ割り watermelon cracking

They went to Powell street festival, or aka Japanese Festival, this afternoon. By the kids tent, there was a watermelon cracking event. Momo-Chan took part but Pinga and her mom were a bit disappointed how it was organized. Usually, kids get blindfolded and try to hit watermelon from other people's guidance e.g. move a bit towards left, right, and a bit more forward, etc. But there was no blindfolding and also even though the watermelon was cracked, they didn't stop hitting it. Traditionally when the watermelon is cracked, the event is done and next is to cut the watermelon for participated kids. Other Japanese parents were puzzled by how it is organized as well.

Hello geese!

It was cloudy and a bit chilly. They went to Stanley Park for playground and watching geese.

On the way home

It takes long time to get home when twins are not on the stroller. They like to imitate what Momo-chan or other kids are doing. Here they are taking mini break by the water.

Rainbow at the fountain

It is not unusual to see a rainbow over the fountain but each time Pinga gets excited.

Beyblade outside

Wednesday is a picnic day with Japanese families. Momo-chan joined after the summer camp. He had fun playing beyblade with other kids.

New pose?

At lunch and snack time, twins were doing this pose. Their nanny wondered what it means... 

Laughing men

Before the Saturday fireworks, Pingu took the kids to the school playground. An airplane was doing a show by the beach so they walked closer. They walked by these statues and stayed a while. 

QP-chan and the bike

They had a break in and Momo-chan's bike and their bike trailer got stolen. When Pingu was securing the rest of the bikes, he got the running bike out. Coco-chan was not so interested but QP-chan was hooked directly and walked around with the bike the whole time at the playground. 

Gentleman Coco-chan

Their nanny took this photo. Look at Coco-chan's hand. He is such a gentleman already. 

Drawing time

They had fun drawing with water this afternoon. QP-Chan and Coco-Chan kept on drawing rain. Coco-chan liked to draw abus too.

Firework

Momo-chan and Pinga found a great spot to sit and watch the fireworks. It lasted for 25 minuets.

Celebration of light - Part 1

Here is Momo-chan waiting for fireworks to begin. There will be three teams competing this summer, just like last summer. Today is South Korea fireworks team. Next Wednesday is Swedish team and next Saturday, South African. There are so many people on the beach.

Yoga? Ballet?

Here's twins making yoga pose. QP-chan started and Coco-chan just imitated her.

This is one of their favourite snack spots. QP-chan looks so happy.

Because they both wanted green swings.

Making lion with leaves

Twins nanny has many great ideas. As twins love leaves, they made crest of the lions with leaves. Very nice!

Water park in the morning

It was sunny with 28 c degrees so twins were at the water park. They love water guns. New thing for them is to draw with water gun. They or their nanny have drawn Totoro and Makkurokurosuke.

Lemon for the first time

The twins were very curious about lemon. So Pinga's mom gave them a slice each. Here's how they reacted. QP-chan got used to the sourness and asked for more though.

Laduree macaron

Here's happy Momo-chan at macaron shop. He chose lemon flavor and Pings chose salted caramel.

Arts and crafts corner

Momo-chan was happy doing this Thai pattern drawing. He did all three patterns.

Thai dance performance

Thai festival

There was a Thai festival in Downtown so they went to check it out. Momo-Chan was happy with pork ribs. Pings and her mom thought green papaya salad was delicious.

Sunny day at water park

Twins went to water park with their nanny this morning. They had lots of fun running around and splashing.

Happy twins

They had a nap after active water park morning and here they are doing happy face together.

Creative Coco-chan

Pinga was working hard in the kitchen and the twins were drawing. But when she looked back, Coco-chan has put all the crayons in the pet bottle. Then he tried to get them out and shaking the bottle a lot. After Coco-chan got all the crayons out, of course, QP-chan tried the same thing.

Butterfly

QP-chan chose a butterfly as her second painting motif. Very nice!

They saw their friend getting her hand painted. Here's Coco-chan getting bunny on his hand.

After face painting

There was a community event at Coal Harbour park. Twins waited in line and got these cats painted on their cheeks. Nice!

Sunny day at Second Beach

Twins were at Second Beach playground. They enjoyed swinging, running around and banana bread snack time.

Found a squirrel!

Mount Pleasant school playground

After the English summer school session, Momo-chan ran directly to the playground.

Hungry for ramen

Today is Momo-chan's first day at English summer camp. He will be there afternoons for three weeks. Pingu took Momo-chan to ramen at Gojiro ramen for lunch. He said it was the best ever. This photo was while waiting for the ramen.

Hello ladybug

After dinner, they went to school playground. They met their friends and Coco-chan received a ladybug on his finger. He was a bit scared at the beginning. QP-chan was scared and didn't want to touch it.

Swinging high

Twins fell asleep on the way home so Pingu biked home. Momo-chan wanted to play at the second beach playground so Pinga stayed with him. He wanted Pinga to push him so that he could Swing high like this.

Pingu was pulling the twins like this. He said it's  quite ok if it's not uphill.

Biking in Stanley park

They bikes to a water park and then biker around the park too. There were many bikes and lots of people walking.

Momo-chan liked this a lot and stood in line to do this.

Tanabata festival

Today they all went to Vancouver Japanese language school's tanabata festival. All but Pinga dressed in jinbei. It was a bit crowded but they enjoyed some origami and soumen noodle and watermelon. 

Favorite snack break location

Their nanny told Pinga twins have their favorite snack place. Once there was a person already there and QP-chan stared at that person and looked unhappy. Here they are happily eating banana bread.

Bubbles!

Pinga bought those bubble wands so twins were trying them out. QP-chan got better and made some bubbles. Coco-chan was more careful but didn't make many bubbles as QP-chan.

Look! Yellow flower!

It was very nice and sunny so twins went to Stanley park. On the way, they had fun picking up leaves and flowers.

Maple leaf x2

Coco-chan picked up this big maple leaf so Pinga took a photo like this. Twins like to look at and touch the leaves and flowers.

Hello squirrel!

Monday was a holiday so Momo-chan went to his tutoring with Pingu. So Pinga took twins to Momo-chan's school playground. On the way there, they saw this squirrel. It appeared just after Pinga said, "too bad there's no squirrel here today." Twins like animals so they were curiously looking at it.

Face painting

Momo-chan got a maple leaf painted on his cheek. Many people had tattoos and face paints on Canada day.

Happy Canada day

Pinga got maple leaf tattoos for kids. Twins had it on their cheeks and Momo-chan put it on his hand. It was very difficult taking good photos of them though.
