Figs

They are staying with their friends in West Vancouver. Their house has a nice garden with two fig trees. So they harvested some figs and they were very tasty.

On the bus

Now there are staying in West Vancouver. So they took a bus to Downtown. Here's monkey QP-chan.

Japanese lunch

Here's Coco-chan and Momo-chan happy with their lunch choices. Momo-chan chose unagi and sashimi, Coco-chan unagi and karaage. Tempura at this restaurant was much better than the sushi place the other day.

Fireworks

They were happy to see the fireworks up close. It was a bit of walk afterward to the Yaletown station but it was worth it.

To the Sunset beach

They went to see fireworks in Sunset Beach. There were many people but not as congested as in English Bay.

Stand up paddle

Their friends even had this inflatable stand up paddle. Momo-chan was good at it as he was canoeing with the scout group. Twins and Pinga tried it for the first time.

Fun in the water

They went into the water and it wasn't too cold. They had fun playing and swimming in the water.

Boat cruise at Union Lake

Their friend invited them for a boat ride at the lake. It was sunny and very nice for the occasion.

Bellevue botanical garden

They walked around at the botanical garden but twins were so tired. Momo-chan carried Coco-chan and Pingu, QP-chan.

Happy Lemon

They were in Bellevue. After the visit to a Japanese supermarket, lunch and then the highlight for the kids. That was bubble milk tea at Happy Lemon. They were very happy. Then they went to a playground but it was too hot for them and didn't stay for a long time.

A la mode pies

Pinga's friend recommended this pie place so they went there after the lake. Momo-chan picked s'mores, Coco-chan cookies and cream, and QP-chan strawberry rhubarb pie. Pinga liked Momo-chan's but he said it was too much chocolate and he preferred Coco-chan's. He became very happy when Coco-chan became full and gave the remaining of the pie to him.

Let's bathe!

They decided to go into the water as it was not that cold. The problem was that it hurted to walk on the stones. But they had fun until they felt cold.

On the way to Green Lake, they found these pine cones. QP-chan said they look like fried prawns.

Queue at the border

They came to Peace Arch and there was this long queue. As they didn't have luck with the chosen line, it took about an hour to be done and entered U.S. Pingu and Pinga were thinking of the trip they made with Pinga's parents from Seattle to Vancouver back in 2014.

Leaving Vancouver

The weather has been great and today was no exception. It went up to 31C degrees. Here are the kids playing outside of the house they stayed in South Vancouver just before getting in the car and drive down.

Science world

They met their friends at Science world. Momo-chan remembered the place but twins were too young for that. They had. Alot of fun and three hours was not enough.

Sushi lunch

They went to have sushi while Pingu was meeting his ex colleagues. Momo-chan chose katsu bento, Coco-chan unagi cucumber rolls, and QP-chan karaage set. Sushi was great but deep fried things like tempura and Karaage were so so.

Splash park picnic

They were at the splash park and met with the Japanese friends. All the kids were much bigger compared to three years ago, of course, but a lot of fun just like before.

Finally arrived in Vancouver

They arrived in Vancouver at noon time today. They were up from 3:30 am to catch the 6 o'clock flight.

Snoopy author

Snoopy's author, Charles Schulz, was a St, Paul native. So there was this Snoopy at the kids play area.

Kids play area

As they had more than three hours to the next flight, they walked to the play area. It's a nice clean play area.

In Minneapolis

They left the hotel at 4:30am and took the flight from Chicago to Minneapolis around 6. Twins noticed that the signs were in Japanese. Pinga wondered if there are many Japanese guests at this airport as it's unusual that the signs are in Japanese, well, at least on flat escalators.

After almost four hours...

So they landed at Chicago O'Hare airport around 19. Then went through immigration, went to United counter, and then to SAS counter. SAS is very far from customer centric and they just rebooked them to the next morning flight without notifying passengers. So all the people who missed connection flights went to United counter and waited in the long queue. Then they found out they needed to go to SAS counter. They were finally done at SAS at 21:20 but then waited for the hotel shuttle bus for over an hour just to find out it was full of people and couldn't take them. Pinga took this photo while they waited for a shuttle bus. They finally got to the hotel by taxi around 23 and waited in another line to check in. Wow, what a long night they had.

Missed connection flight

As Pinga feared, they missed a connection flight to Vancouver from Chicago. Now they are in the queue to be rebooked and getting a hotel.

Waiting to board

Their flight got delayed for 30 minutes to 16:10. Let's hope they will make it to the connection flight in Chicago. It is already tight but they need to enter U.S. and then check into their flight to Vancouver.

Off to Vancouver

They got to Lund station to take the train to Copenhagen Airport.

Bearded twins

Twins wanted a bubble bath. So here they are enjoying bubbles in different ways.

Golf Momo-chan

It was Momo-chan's first time playing golf. Their friend invited Momo-chan and Pinga for a trial. They started off at the driving range.

In Höllviken

They took a bus to get to Höllviken with their friends. They were anxious if the bus is full of people but it was just them onboard. They went to see this biblical garden.

Here's QP-chan showing Pinga what she made at school today. Very nice!

Little kitchen helper

Here's Coco-chan whipping egg white. Pinga was making raspberry tiramisu and he came to help.

Coco-chan's 4th tooth

Coco-chan came home with a tooth in his hand. He did cushion fight with his friends and he got a cushion on his face and the tooth came off. So now he lost both upper front teeth.

Biking to school

From last week, twins go to a different school as the three school kids are gathered to one school during the vacation peak weeks. They seem to like this school too.

Hello froggies

They went to catch frogs at a nearby pond. There were many frogs but they were quick and difficult to catch. Momoa caught one and his friend caught another.

Fun at the beach

Here's Coco-chan chasing Momo-chan with a water gun. Momo-chan went ro get another water gun to counter Coco-chan.

Beach with Astrid

They went to visit their friend at her summer house. She has this cute miniature schnauzer, Astrid. They took a walk to the beach and it was very nice. Water was not so cold and not many people either.

Picking cherries again

Their neighbour was so kind and offered to pick up cherries in their garden as there were so many and they couldn't eat them up. So they went there to pick them up. They were very big and tasted great.

Making jam

Pinga made cherry jam. Here's Coco-chan helping to mix it.

Cherry harvest

They went to pick up cherries again. They found good trees and happy to get so many of them.

Coco-chan's third tooth

This front tooth has been moving and there was a big gap but it was still there. But it finally came off when he was bicycling. So the twins had to look for the tooth and QP-chan found it. This was Coco-chan's third milk tooth that came out.

Nyhavn

They went to see the colorful houses in Nyhavn. QP-chan was not in a good mood somehow but Coco-chan was happy. There were many many tourists.

In Copenhagen

They went to Copenhagen to show their friends around. The weather was not that good but they had fun waling around. Here are twins in front of the city hall.

At trampoline park

As ut was rainy, they went to a trampoline park. As it was Saturday and rainy, there were many people. But they had fun.

Ice cream time

It turned out to be that all the kids wanted to have an ice cream. They ordered one each and it was big! Twins had kids size soft ice cream and they were this big. QP-chan had mini marshmallows, Coco-chan dime and Momo-chan chose Oreo toppings.

Let's walk back

When they are done bathing in the ocean, it was already 8:30pm. It was getting cool so they walked back. Pinga wondered if any of them wanted to eat ice cream...

Brave kids

Pinga was impressed by the kids as they all went into the water at the end of the pier. Wow!

Bjärred beach

After dinner, they drove to Bjärred. There were not so many people and the water was cold but Momo-chan has no problem going in.

Domkyrkan 900 years celebration

As the friends from Frankfurt are here, they went to the cathedral to look at the astronomical clock but there was this celebration of the inauguration of the cathedral 900 years ago. So they couldn't go in. There were a lot of people outside and just before noon, the king and queen of Sweden arrived. The crowd got do excited but Pinga couldn't see much and didn't know about it until after Momo-chan showed her photos of the queen and king. Momo-chan took very good photos.
